On August 27, 2019, the “2019 Bamboo and Rattan Product Development Technology Overseas Training Course in Ghana” hosted by the Ministry of Commerce of China, undertaken by International Center for Bamboo and Rattan (ICBR) and co-organized by INBAR and the Forestry Commission of the Ghanaian Ministry of Land and Natural Resources was held in the Forestry Commission Training Center of Kumasi City, Ghana.

 

This training course is a continuation and upgrade of the 2018 Ghanaian Bamboo and Rattan Product Development Technology Overseas Training Course. In the course of 30 days, a total number of 90 Ghanaian bamboo and rattan furniture design and production craftsmen will be trained. The trainees will mainly learn the production process of round bamboo furniture and perform practical exercises, including production tools and mechanical operations, pretreatment of bamboo and rattan materials, high value-added round bamboo furniture parts prefabrication, frame making, sanding, painting and other production and processing technologies.
