On April 25th, 2019, a delegation of 9 people from Myanmar, including delegates from the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection, Bamboo and Rattan Chamber of Commerce in Myanmar, Pegu Division Parliament and officials from the Forestry Department, visited ICBR to conduct exchanges on the development of bamboo and rattan industries. YIN Gangqiang, Secretary of ICBR’s CPC Committee and Deputy Director General of ICBR, met the delegation, joined by heads of the Department of Science and Technology, Department of Industrial Department, Department of Training, Department of International Cooperation and Exchanges, General Office and Institute of Bamboo & Rattan Resources and Environment.
On behalf of the Centre, DDG YIN welcomed the delegation and briefly reviewed the achievements of China-Myanmar bamboo and rattan cooperation in recent years. He hoped that the visit would build a bridge for broader practical cooperation between the two countries in this field. LI Lan, Director of the Department of Industrial Department, gave an overview of the innovations and development of China's bamboo industries and shared China’s experience. The Department of International Cooperation and Exchanges gave an overview of ICBR and its work in scientific research, industry and international cooperation especially.
The President of the Bamboo and Rattan Chamber of Commerce in Myanmar introduced Myanmar’s bamboo and rattan resources and their industries, policies and utilization and expressed the hope to enhance cooperation with ICBR in bamboo and rattan’s scientific research, industrial development and technical training.
