江澤慧,國際木材科學院院士,首席科學家,教授,博士生導師。1960年安徽農業大學林學係林學專業畢業,獲學士學位。1960年赴中國林業科學研究院木材工業研究所材性研究室進修。曾任安徽農業大學黨委書記兼校長。1993年2月當選安徽省人大常委會副主任。1996年1月調入原國家林業部。擔任原林業部黨組成員兼中國林業科學研究院院長、分黨組書記。曾任第九至十二屆全國政協人口資源環境委員會副主任,第四、第五屆國務院學位委員會委員,第五、第六屆中國科協常委,中國林學會理事長,中國生態文化協會會長,中國竹產業協會會長,中國木材學會常務副理事長。
國內外知名的木材學家、林學家,長期從事森林利用學、中國林業工程、木材科學與技術等學科領域的教學、科研和科技管理工作,先後主持和參加國家攀登計劃項目、國家科技支撐計劃項目、國家自然基金重點項目和國際熱帶木材組織(ITTO)項目、全球環境基金(GEF)項目和商品共同基金(CFC)項目等。研究成果獲國家科技進步一等獎1項,二等獎3項,省部級獎8項。出版專著《世界主要樹種木材科學特性》(中英文版)、《世界竹藤》(中英文版)、《綠竹神氣》(中英文版)、《中國林業工程》、《中國現代林業》、《東南亞木材識別及用途》、《生態文明時代的主流文化——中國生態文化體係研究總論》等50餘部,在國內外刊物發表學術論文500餘篇。先後培養林業工程學科研究生、博士後100餘人。
